DR. GARY ISHKANIAN, M.D. , has been working with DR. ARTHUR H. ELKIND, M.D. in treating headache patients since 1990. He trained under DR. ELKIND while completing his residency in Internal Medicine at The Mount Vernon Hospital. Dr. Ishkanian is a board certified internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine for St. George's University School of Medicine and the Director of Medical Education for St. George's University medical students at the Mount Vernon Hospital.

Dr. Ishkanian is an attending physician on the staff of both the Mount Vernon Hospital and Sound Shore Medical Center and is on staff at several Skilled Nursing Facilities.

He is a member of the American Headache Society, the International Headache Society and the National Headache Foundation. He is also a book review editor of the Headache Quarterly, a professional publication.

Dr. Ishkanian has lectured extensively to the lay public, housestaff trainees and other professionals on the topic of Headache and has been a Sub-Investigator on clinical trials pertaining to Headache over the past ten years.
